Major Lazer's Dubbed-Out Frank Ocean Cover
In perfect timing for the late-summer season, Diplo and Major Lazer present this reggae-twinged spin on Frank Ocean's channel ORANGE throwback "Lost". Featuring MØ on vocals, Major Lazer's take transforms the tune into a new creation entirely, an open tropical celebration with a very dub-feeling backbone to the whole affair. On Twitter, Diplo told fans the cover was "for all the lazersquad cuz we love u".
The cover's release comes well-timed, as Frank Ocean confirmed earlier this year that he was releasing a new album in July, though fans are bugging out because no further news has followed. At least you'll have this cover to tide you over: Diplo is offering a free MP3 download on SoundCloud.
In other Diplo-related news, Madonna announced that Diplo will be opening for Madonna on her Rebel Heart World Tour for its first shows in Montreal on September 9 and 10. No word yet on openers for future Rebel Heart shows, so if the debut goes well, he might end up on more Madonna dates as well.
