Back in April, Point Blank spent 12 days travelling across North America hosting masterclasses with some of the biggest names in electronic music on Richie Hawtin’s music technology education tour CNTRL. Artists like Dubfire, Matthew Dear and Chris Liebing joined PB as they travelled East to West learning more about their creative approach, studio processes and live performance setup.
Point Blank’s final masterclass of the tour found them in Los Angeles, hosting one of electronic music’s most innovative artists – and the man responsible for the CNTRL concept – Richie Hawtin.
Recently honoured for his outstanding contribution to music technology with an Honorary Doctorate from Huddersfield University, Richie Hawtin is undoubtedly one of the most influential producers, artists and DJs. Point Blank spoke to him about his approach to live performance and technical setup in front of a packed crowd in LA. You can watch the video below and make sure you subscribe to PB’s YouTube channel for more interviews, tutorials and live events.
