kode9 notel video

Kode9 has revealed a new video for 'Third Ear Transmission' that features vocals from The Spaceape. The longtime collaborator with Kode9 passed away in 2014 after a prolonged battle with cancer. The track is off the forthcoming album Nothing, due out November 13 via Hyperdub.

The video is a trailer for Kode9's new A/V show to be revealed at Unsound Adelaide in 2016. It looks a bit like the old-school Golden Eye game for Nintendo 64, only a bit grittier and more to the style of Kode9 of course. The producer tapped Lawrence Lek to construct the visual aspect that features the "Nøtel," an "evacuated, fully automated, luxury hotel".

"The project explores a post-scarcity world in which the only thing in short supply is humans. The performance guides the audience on a first-person tour through the uncanny architecture of the Nøtel. In sprawling chambers deep within slick glass corridors, they encounter warped spaces, quantum clouds, gravitational pools, dancing voids and holograms of the dead."
