The top ten house music chart is back in a big way after my well-deserved extended hiatus in Ibiza so I can't say that this top ten wasn't influenced at all by the Iberian sound. Big up front tunes by Alexis Raphael, Mirco Caruso, Hot Since 82, and of course the number one tune recipient Riva Starr all very well reflect the sound of the white isle. These top ten tunes are extremely infectious, bass-heavy, tribal, and of course a bit melodic. So without further ado, welcome back to the top ten house music chart courtesy of yours truly, Danny Kaufman.
1. “House Nation (Riva Starr Edit)”
DJ Roland Clark & Sante Sansone
The Italian house maestro, Riva Starr returns to the Saved imprint for his second edition of "Raw Edits" and the lead track, "House Nation" has quite possibly the most infectious four on the floor groove I've heard all year long!
Another highly infectious groove in the top ten house chart except this time from London's own Alexis Raphael on Kerri Chandler's MadTech imprint.
Hot Since 82
First heard by most on Hot Since 82's Essential Mix back in August, this absolute slammer is now available on Adam Beyer's outlet for housier tunes, Truesoul.
4. “Next Guest”
Mirco Caruso's "Next Guest" was on heavy rotation for the latter part of the Ibiza season and as of this past Monday it is now available for the masses exclusively on Hive Audio.
[Virgin EMI Records]
If you've seen Duke Dumont perform live this year then you probably remember being put under a spell by this sultry jam of his entitled "Melt."
"Melt" is available to purchase now exclusively on Part 1 of his Blase Boys Club EP.
6. “Easy (Undercatt Remix)”
Ost & Kjex feat. Jens Carelius
The Easy EP by Norwegian duo, Ost & Kjex includes this prolific re-rub by the Italian duo known simply as Undercatt!
The German producer from Leipzig known simply as Lexer turns in a beautifully hypnotic tune that could easily fit in a Solomun set as easily as it could into a Sasha or even a Dixon set. Expect this one to make the rounds for the next few months and maybe even deep into the Winter season.
8. “Before The Heat”
Sinisa Tamamovic describes his production style as "techno-groove" but this minimal thumper would be just as worthy for any house music set.
Defected's little sister, DFTD just unleashed this piano-heavy garage stomper by a brand new duo who go by the name of ANOTR!
10. “What's The News (Sidney Charles Remix)”
Sidney Charles' heavy hitting style of garage is about as punchy as they come and his latest remix of Basement Jaxx' "What's The News" is of course no exception.
