Axwell seems to be very nostalgic when someone brings up Swedish House Mafia. The EDM supergroup consisting of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello ended their time together in 2013, but fans have always hoped for a reunion.
In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on his BBC Radio 1 show, Axwell revealed hopeful news that probably has SHM fans buzzing all over the world. Here's what he had to say:
"We think about it every now and then, you know what we left, what we did, what we accomplished and everything, and how it would be to do something together again. But I think, the only thing is that time will tell pretty much. We have been blessed to be riding this wave, and just ahead of the wave for some time now, so you know we are able to do exactly what we want, which is a blessing. You know this song that we just played, it was just like no thoughts, no need, no nothing, just music. Who knows what happens in the future, we might get a sudden urge for Swedish House Mafia again… who knows!"
It's interesting to note that in the past, all members have been consistent with saying that a reunion would never happen. After the group split up, Steve Angello went in one direction and Axwell and Ingrosso started up their own project. This new bit of news gives hope to all die hard SHM fans and we can all get excited for what can possible come together in the future. *fingers crossed*
