Weekly Top 10 Drum and Bass Chart - 11.18.15
Apologies for the absence! Even if I dip away for a short while, you can be assured that dnb is on my mind at all times. It's a passion and an obsession - one that I am proud of and will heartily own. A mate with a similar obsession (albeit, sadly, with some breed of house) was recently telling me how he manufactured his new girlfriend's surprise birthday celebrations to "accidentally" take place at a Nicky Romero rave - unbeknownst to her. I am not even convinced she is a fan by any stretch of the imagination but I do admire his dedication to the cause. The things we do for love...

“Panzer” - Dimension
[RAM Records]
Dimension is one of the year's breakouts and he's bossing it big time. For any of you word geeks, Panzer is a German language word that means armour.
“How Love Begins” - High Contrast & DJ Fresh ft. Dizzee Rascal
[Ministry of Sound]
High Contrast is a don, DJ Fresh ain't so shabby (if beautifully mainstream) but this tune was premiered as Annie Mac's Hottest Record and MistaJam's RadioRipper so get it up ya!
“Dnt U” - Gerra & Stone
[RAM Records]
Techy with retching synths says RAM Records. Bristolian belter says we!
“Rep” - TC ft. Jakes
[Rex Recordings]
Naughty, naughty, naughty one…
“High Flyer” - Silent Witness
[Bad Taste Recordings]
Lulling you into a false sense of security before booting up the tempo and injecting some premium oof. Described by one Soundcloud user as 'alternating atmospheric vs neurofunk’ - that about sums it up for me!
“Spike” - Fourward
[Shogun Audio]
Are Fourward the forefather's of Austrian drum and bass? Well no, not with Camo & Krooked in the mix, but they're a bloody great addition to the team anyway!
“Happy Alone (Cyantific Remix)" - Matrix & Futurebound ft. V. Bozeman
[Parlophone UK]
Cyantific's invitation to the Matrix & Futurebound party here is nothing short of inspired.
“Dead Space” - Enei & Mefjus
[Critical Music]
Austria and Russia team up to launch outstanding sensory assault.
“Barking” - Rido
[Plasma Audio]
Three things I learnt about Rido (courtesy of UKF) - His day job is recording music and mixing for movies. The first track he ever sent to Metalheadz got signed. He has a degree in horse riding. That last one I made up because UKF’s showing was a bit poor… could still be true..
“Stolen Glances (Phaction Remix)” - Pola & Bryson ft. Sammie Bella
[Soulvent Records]
One for the hangover. Best served with a couple of paracetamol and neck rub.
Listen to the whole damn ting
