Weekly Top 10 Techno Chart - 11.9.15

Magnetic Magazine's weekly top 10 techno chart. This week features tracks from Tale of Us & Mind Against, D.R.N.D.Y., Hot Since 82, Steve Parry, and more!

Welcome back to the weekly top 10 techno chart here at Magnetic Magazine. I know it's been a little while since I have given you a fix of techno (if you don’t count the interview piece I did with Ramiro Lopez) and for that I apologize. That being said, I am back to deliver some of my favorite productions that I discovered since we last met. Let’s get into the music shall we?

“Astral” – Tale of Us & Mind Against
[Life and Death]

Techno voyagers Tale of Us and Mind Against have joined forces to create this sonic device meant to propel one’s conscience from their physical self into another dimension. This one is released by Life and Death, the label founded by DJ Tennis and Greg Oreck of Thugfucker. It's an imprint that always turns out quality tracks. Use on a device with broad frequency range for maximum potency.

“All Bite No Bark” – Pleasurekraft
[Octopus Recordings]

Pleasurekraft is on the attack with this title track from his release on Octopus. I love the groove and bitcrushed stabs.

“Pictures of Damage” – D.R.N.D.Y.

This is the “B-side” of D.R.N.D.Y.’s latest release, Regal EP, out now on Wam. The energy is dark and unstoppable in this peak hour heater.

“Rexy” – Pierre Deutschmann

Coming straight from Berlin is this single from Pierre Deutschmann’s Derost EP. Bitcrushed pads float over a merciless pounding kick while the jagged stabs prod you to move your feet.

“Parakeet Feet (Hodge Remix)” – Dusky
[17 Steps]

This single is from the latest remix package to be released from Dusky’s Ordinary World EP. The original mix was a rocket ship ride into earth’s orbit, Hodge has decided to tunnel us down into the furious molten core of the planet in his dark and heavy interpretation. It is currently a vinyl-only release.

“Big Cats Groove (Bengal Remix)” – Mickey Lion & Bengal
[Desert Hearts Records]

This is a funky, dubbed out tune from the free The Big Cats EP by Desert Hearts founder Mickey Lion and Bengal. While it has a laid back energy, it also has a sexy infectious groove that is less about raging and more about getting closer to your dance partner. Thank you Desert Hearts Records for making it a free download!

“Smoking” – Samuel Dan
[Be One Records]

Samuel Dan brings the heat with this deep tech house cut on his latest EP Jack, on Be One Records. The stabs have a squelchy retro feel that’s paired with a clean bass line and “elevating” vocal sample.

“Veins” – Hot Since 82

Hot Since 82 needs no introduction. He has brought his talents for the first time to Adam Beyer’s Truesoul imprint. Both tracks, “Veins” and “Damage,” hit the Beatport top 100. “Veins” is a huge track that will test the structural integrity of any room it’s played in.

“Flippant” – Steve Parry
[Bedrock Records]

Steve Parry has taken his production talents to John Digweed’s Bedrock for a highly anticipated release. “Flippant” has heavy percussion and stabs that break through the hypnotic mutating acid line slithering through the track.

“Seven Notes” – Danny Serrano
[Intec Digital]

You better dance or get out of the way with this peak hour track from Danny Serrano. This is just one of three banging tunes on his Paragraphy EP on Intec Digital. Every track will have you screaming “Oh yes! Oh yes!”

There you have it! Thank you all for stopping by and I'll see you here next week.
