It isn’t all about the dance when it comes to music - the technical, creative and business methods behind it carry as much gravity. For the first time, UK festival Bloc have teamed up with London Electronic Music Event (LEME) to discuss the link between the music experience and the technical side of the industry.

Bringing together artists, industry and media professionals and labels for panel discussions and workshops over the three day festival, they seek to gain insight into the artist’s creative process, discuss the politics of partying and look at the art of DJing.

Detroit master Carl Craig, alongside Ansome and Defekt, will be talking hardware, the live creation of sound and how they personally make use of modular units. Also sharing his own personal experiences, revered founder of Mute records, Daniel Miller, will give insight into his career and deep involvement in contemporary electronic music.

And it doesn’t stop there. Resident Advisor will be hi-jacking the LEME cinema for a live version of their Exchange series with Detroit’s DJ Bone, and Night Moves’ host, Jane Fitz, will be joined by industry heads from Boiler Room and RBMA to talk about equal representation in electronic music.
