Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Longside Gallery are getting set to launch the first UK museum exhibition by the renowned American artist, KAWS.

KAWS is one such artist that literally worked his way up from tagging the streets to having his work featured in museums. The Brooklyn based artist showcases his work in his own stylistic manner, focusing on numerous mediums such as painting, sculpture, printmaking and design.

In the 1990s, KAWS conceived the soft skull with crossbones and crossed-out eyes which would become his signature iconography. Now the figure, which is called "Companion", can be seen in various forms and sizes, from little toy figurines to gigantic sculptures.

For the upcoming exhibition the artist has produced a series of five paintings, each measuring 112 x 92 inches. The show will run from February 6th - June 12th 2016. To find out more, click here.
