When news broke that Goldenvoice, producers of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, were aiming to put on a music festival in NYC, music fans everywhere were anxious to see it become a reality. Now we have confirmation that the new festival, dubbed Panorama, will be taking place on July 22-24, 2016 at Randall’s Island Park. The inaugural event will present three days of top tier musical performances, dynamic art installations, innovative technology, and some of NYC’s best local eats.
The festival takes its name from the Panorama of the City of New York, a nearly-10,000 –square-foot to-scale model of the city located in Queens Museum.
“We look forward to bringing Panorama to New York City and introducing a new festival that showcases today’s top music acts,” stated Mark Shulman, the Festival Producer at Goldenvoice. “We’re committed to creating an event that will provide significant benefits to New York City with the level of experience and meticulous attention to detail for which Goldenvoice is known.”
There was notion circulating that other festivals would try and petition against Panorama coming to NYC. Governors Ball, another festival, was leading the charge, but it seems to no avail.
“Goldenvoice has received tremendous support from the local community and elected officials who recognize the immense economic benefits these types of events deliver to their businesses and constituents. We look forward to continuing our discussions with NYC Parks to create an event to take place in Queens in the future,” said Shulman.
Stay tuned for Panorama lineup and ticketing announcements coming soon.
