Top Hip Hop This Week

We are back with another fresh playlist of the very best hip hop from the first week of January. This week we have a little bit of everything including music from one of my favorite MCs of all time (What up Casual!). As always we try to keep things interesting here at Magnetic and as rappers continue to get more and more creative, the different styles of many of today's best rappers continue to shine right here on our site. Covering everything from the underground to the trap house, we have it all for you here, so turn up, dig in to the playlist below, and let us know if we left anything special out by dropping a comment at the bottom of this post.

*These tracks are in no particular order.

Timbaland — "SHAKIN" - Ft. Aaliyah
Timberland is back with Aaliyah.... No she's not back from the dead but it sure is nice to hear her on a tack with Timbo again.

Domo Genesis - "KWYM" (Keep Working Young Man)
I was actually at Domo's first ever show and it's been trip to watch this kid do his thing. His style shines through in "KWYM" and it's easily one of the better songs I've heard all week.

Ron Jon Bovi - "Time Tunnel"
Phat Kat & Casual are Ron Jon Bovie and chances are you probably don't know who these guys are. As a huge Hiero Head, Casual's music will always have a place on this website.

Consequence - "Make Believe" feat. Kam Corvet
Another quality track from Cons graces our humble playlist this week. Nothing crazy will be heard on "Make Believe" but Consequence's consistency and dope flow continues to keep us interested.

BLACK MILK — "Like I Need It All"
Detroit's Black milk drops a new track which is always a good thing in my book. His last project dropped in 2014 so should be getting something new for this year.

Father — "She Know"
His style is effortless and his tracks are addicting. Father was one of my top new artists in 2015 and he continues to drop gold with "She Know".

Tayyib Ali — "State 2 State" Ft. Tedy Andreas
The Philly rapper comes correct on his new song featuring Tedy Andreas.

Cozz - "City Of God" (Feat. Boogie)(Prod. Meez)
So Cozz just dropped a new album out of no where which included this gem featuring Compton's Boogie. You can stream "Nothing Personal" right here

Rae Sremmurd - "By Chance" [Prod. By Mike WiLL Made-It & Resource]
The lack of substance on "By Chance" can be made up for by the simple yet dope beat from Mike Will Made-It & Resource.

Rockie Fresh — "Down To Roll"
Rockie does it again. I really loved the beat on this one as it just makes the song stand out against most of the others I heard this week. Well done Mr. Fresh.
