Lady Gaga's David Bowie tribute at The Grammys was not met with high praise. Bowie's son, director Duncan Jones, sounded off on Twitter expressing his distaste for the performance. Now, with another awards show wrapped up in The Brit Awards, comes another David Bowie tribute, this time being helmed by Lorde.
Jones was relieved to finally see a proper tribute to his late father who passed away back in January. He praised the performance, calling it "beautiful".
Lorde says she was nervous before the performance, which is easy to see after the negative response from Lady Gaga's tribute.
It's interesting to note that Lorde didn't nearly pull out all the stops that Lady Gaga did, but maybe that's what made this tribute better. Lorde didn't try to be anyone but herself and as a result it was a stunning performance. Gaga sang a plethora of tracks that made her performance a bit manic, while Lorde sang one song and absolutely smashed it. You can watch Lorde's performance below.
