Aubrey Graham was once a person that not too many people in Hip-hop could get behind, but now has the whole world buzzing because it’s Drake season. 2015 was a big year for the guy and he’s looking to ride that wave in 2016. With the drop of his new song, 'Summer Sixteen,' over the weekend and the NBA All Star game in Toronto just weeks away, everybody seems to be talking about Drake.
Drake's forthcoming album Views From The 6 is coming soon, but interestingly enough, it wasn’t his album he was talking about at the Raptors game last night. Drake was a guest commentator against the Pistons and it was basketball he was more keen on discussing. He’s used to sitting court side at the Air Canada Centre, but usually just as a fan.
“I’m telling you I can get used to this man. Rap’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Don’t let it fool you.”
Drake is the global ambassador of the Toronto Raptors, the celebrity coach of the NBA All Star game and has a friendship with many players in the NBA. Could we see Drake make the same transition as Jay-Z? Perhaps he could become a scout or own his own NBA team one day, but for now, all we want is his new album and maybe some affordable OVO gear.
