Yes, we know it's still winter, but that doesn't mean we can't brush off the cold with a bit of quality music. As spring approaches comes the excitement for the next installment of CRSSD Festival in San Diego. The lineup continuously boasts highly sought after DJs and this year is no different.
To get you ready for the festivities we've tapped Jeremy Olander to deliver his top picks for a spring session. He goes deep into the realm of House for this one and delivers a stacked selection of tracks aimed precisely at the dance floor. Check out his selection below and be sure to catch him at CRSSD Fest in March.
01. Khen - Secret Shining [Lost & Found]
This guy’s going places. Very soothing track from Tel Aviv-based Khen on the lovely label founded by Guy J that is Lost & Found. This is type of sound is really up my alley. Super dreamy and takes you on a proper journey just like music should.
02. Mark Reeve - Exodus [Drumcode]
Drumcode is synonymous with quality and these days it feels like that own the sound in their clubs and Beatport charts. At the moment I’m in love with this particular Mark Reeve track He’s put together a dreamy arpeggio that just keeps going and going on top of some killer drums.
03. Lane 8 - Frau [Suara]
Heard a snippet of this in a video Daniel posted on his Facebook page and it really spoke to me. Very hooky and infectious. We even tried to sign it to Vivrant but at that point papers were already signed with Suara. Definitely my favourite of the three on this EP!
04. The Knife - Silent Shout [Jeremy Olander Edit]
I put together this edit before the release party for my label in Stockholm. Seeing how The Knife is also from there and their track ‘Silent Shout’ is well known among the club goers and I wanted to have a secret weapon to pull out. It went down a lot better than expected. At every show I drop this people ask me about it.
05. Agents of Time - Magma [Ellum]
This one goes hard. Really loving the harmonies and arrangements that AoT put together. Works very well in my sets, perfect for the season I can’t wait to hear more from these guys.
06. Hugo Massien - Kontrol [XL Recordings]
Not usually my kind of style of track to play out, but sometime I squeeze it in and when I do the place always goes off. This track just has such a huge bass line and a repetitive vocal that tends that really captivates people.
07. Jeremy Olander - Falls [Vivrant]
This is one of the four tracks that made up the first release on my new label. I made it to use as an emotional end track to my sets. The melody really lends itself well to the spring. To me ‘Falls’ is kind of a rise and fall story in a sonic format where things seem like they won’t look up, but in the end they do.
08. Guy Mantzur - Trees of Eden [Diynamic]
My man Mantzur has put together a huge banger for Solomun that’s dropping on Diynamic. To me, he epitomises the style that Israel in general and Tel Aviv in particular is synonymous with. Progressive, melodic, groovy and with an amazing atmosphere that makes it perfect for this time of year.
Jeremy Olander is currently on tour in North America and will be playing CRSSD Festival in San Diego on March 5 as a part of his Vivrant Music Tour.
