Before they were robots, Daft Punk were just a couple of French guys looking to make their mark on the music scene. The robot helmets would be put on a bit later, but on their first ever live tour they kept it simple.
Recently, some rare photos have surfaced from Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo's first ever live tour of the UK. Strapped with their sequencers and drum machines, the duo took the world by storm with their distinct brand of French House. But back in 1995 and '96, Daft Punk were just getting started.
The photos were found by the Daft Punk fan website DaftBootlegs via ifcwdjd, "A tumblr dedicated to Daft Punk and Daniel Vangarde." The gigs featured in the photos are from shows at Global Gathering, The Carros Festival, Heavenly Social, London After Midnight and Tribal Gathering.
