As festival season is nearly upon us, Bestival, one of the UK's leading music festivals, will be touching down in Toronto once again and has revealed it's lineup for 2016.
Having already announced it's two major headliners in The Cure and Tame Impala, Bestival Toronto is pulling out all stops this year with a diverse lineup consisting of artists that break the mold of their respected field.
Bringing international artists together with Canada’s finest bands and DJs across multiple stages and mega sound systems in the heart of Toronto, there's plenty of groundbreaking dance music to dig into. Joining the headliners will be ODESZA and the eccentric pop artist Grimes, along with rhythm master Jamie xx and artistic wunderkind Porter Robinson. French electronic innovator Madeon and purveyor of revolutionary future house Tchami will also showcase their sound.
Dance music takes a front row seat this year with techno kingpin Dubfire, tropical house chief Thomas Jack, Daughter, enchanting deep house from Maya Jane Coles and aural adventurer Joris Voorn. Plus the incomparable Art Department, laidback disco from Classixx, Catz n Dogz, and Hot Natured’s Lee Foss. Not to mention the Beats 1 Friday night avenger Anna Lunoe will keep Woodbine Park dancing with Malaa, Shaun Frank, and Giraffage as well.
Bestival curator Rob da Bank had this to say regarding the lineup: “Jamie xx’s set last year on the fire breathing Temple Stage was one of my highlights of our first Toronto show, so I’m really excited that he’s back, along with electronic behemoths Porter Robinson, Odesza, and the first lady of weird leftfield pop Grimes, plus we’ve got a huge undercard, too. See you in T-Dot!”
