Don't worry, Insomniac will not be announcing a similar fate to that of SFX, it is however letting fans know what to expect in the coming months.

Pasquale Rotella, founder of the event production company behind EDC, Electric Forest, Beyond Wonderland and Nocturnal Wonderland, has published a letter to Insomniac fans revealing plans for the year's upcoming festival season.

Changes for this year include Beyond Wonderland not being held in San Francisco and EDC not making it's way down to Puerto Rico, along with the cancellation of EDC Japan.

The brightest moment of the letter deals with Insomniac's vision of bringing back the true art of DJing. As Rotella states, "Part of what’s so magical about dance music is the ability for a DJ to take listeners on a journey. We want to give DJs the opportunity to do that, so you’ll definitely be seeing longer set times this year."

Longer set times is a gift for us fans who find ourselves running around festivals trying to catch a moment from every set that usually only spans the length of an hour. We'll be looking forward to having DJs take us on a proper sonic journey from now on.

Insomniac is also relaunching Insomniac Records in order to release groundbreaking music from artists it regularly works with. Plus, the crew are currently working on a number of new US festivals planned for 2017, so be on the look out for more news coming soon.
