Listen to The First Original Pretty Lights Track in Three Years

He also launches a Spotify playlist, ‘The Hot Sh*t”, to will be updated weekly

It's been three years since Pretty Lights released his Grammy-nominated album A Color Map of the Sun, and now we are finally graced with new material in the form of 'Only Yesterday'.

The groundbreaking producer recently announced he would be taking his sound in a new direction, sharing that he is done releasing music on "albums". 'Only Yesterday' is the first taste of his new vision. The ambient motif is layered over Pretty Lights’ signature hip-hop influenced sound, yet features more nostalgic vocal samples than electronic beats.

"'Only Yesterday' is a track trying to express something very honest about how it can feel like an ongoing struggle to truly be yourself. The video is a piece of cinematic nostalgia, and an effort to collectively acknowledge how important it can be for an individual to find meaningful connection with their FRIENDS."
