Tragedy strikes at Time Warp Argentina as six have been found dead while another four remain in the hospital in critical condition.
According to the Buenos Aires Herald, the situation occurred on the first night of the two-day festival, prompting organizers to cancel the second day of the event.
Victims are said to be between the ages of 21-25 with a 17 year old still in the hospital. Police refused to release the names of the deceased, which resulted in many parents frantically searching to contact their children.
Although the official cause of death has not been shared, the symptoms were consistent with overdose from ecstasy, methamphetamine or designer drugs.
In a separate case, the Buenos Ares police arrested two men for possession of ecstasy, LSD, poppers, cocaine and cannabis. Of the drugs that were confiscated they found 182 doses of ecstasy in various forms, 55 doses included the dangerous "Superman" pills that have been reported to be deadly.
In response to the tragedy, Time Warp released an official statement:
We express our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the people who passed away. The cause of this tragedy will take some time to determine. The show is cancelled for tonight.
We will let you know as soon as possible how you can refund the ticket for tonight. We ask that you keep the loved ones of these people in our thoughts and prayers.
