With the lineup for Electric Daisy Carnival set to drop at any moment, Deadmau5 decided to share a spoiler: he will not be performing this year.

Deadmau5, like he so often does, took to Twitter to make the announcement. Many fans were let down, saddened because they likely expected one of the biggest names in dance music to be included at one of the world's biggest dance music festivals. Then the founder of EDC, Pasquale Rotella, threw fuel on the flames and opened up the floodgates with a response.

This prompted countless fans to join in on the conversation, and Deadmau5 didn't shy away from being his usual self, delivering smart jabs back at any proposed attack.

In the end, Deadmau5 truly answers to no one. He steers his own ship and holds all the cards. If he wants to play a festival, he probably could make it happen. It seems as though EDC just wasn't a priority for him this year.
