Lauryn Hill has become notoriously known for turning up late to her performances. Recently, she has been catching heat due to her tardiness at a concert in Atlanta and is now defending her actions, explaining that it's all due to her creative process.
Fans were outraged after the Atlanta show, where Hill showed up 2 hours late and performed for just 40 minutes because the venue has a strict closing policy. She blamed being late on her driver, saying "I can't control that." But more fans were hurt by the whole situation and Hill took to Facebook to explain her actions.
Of course her driver may have been late, but as this is not a one time occurrence, she has been criticized for not caring. She says that when she shows up late, it's not because she doesn't care, but instead it's all part of her "artistic process."
“The challenge is aligning my energy with the time, taking something that isn’t easily classified or contained, and trying to make it available for others,” Hill explained.
“I scrutinize, have perfectionist tendencies, and want space made for spontaneity, which is not an easy process, with the many moving parts on the road.” She goes further into detail in the post below.
