Skepta has been absolutely destroying the scene as of late. He just released his long awaited new album and is busy planning the future for his label, Boy Better Know, with which he recently just signed the Hip Hop kingpin Drake. He took the time to talk to Time Out to let us know more about what we can all look forward to.
As the Drake signing was up in there for some time, Skepta went ahead and confirmed it along with announcing more ambitious plans for the label.
“We’re putting together an official worldwide BBK label, but we haven’t talked about how it’ll work yet,” Skepta told the magazine. “It’ll be separate to his existing contracts. Trust me, I am not gonna sue Lil Wayne.”
Skepta also revealed future plans regarding the iconic Top Boy series.
“Despite all the articles online, I am not working on bringing back Top Boy,” he said.
“They – Ashley Walters and Drake – are working on bringing it back. I’ve proper learned about the internet now. People say something and then everyone just believes it. I just laugh at it now.”
Be on the lookout for much more from Skepta coming this year, along with new material from Drake that will likley see the lyricist take his sound in a new direction. Stay tuned.
