With techno being recently tallied as the top selling genre on Beatport, I would have to say the genre is going through somewhat of a renaissance. Yes, we are far past the golden age of the late 80s/early 90s, but we are currently seeing it reach new heights that the genre has never seen before. So without further ado, I would like to present you with these ten new techno tracks that I feel are the biggest and brightest to recently hit the shelves.
1. 'DROP' - ROBERTO CAPUANO [ANALYTICTRAIL]
Italian techno extraordinaire, Roberto Capuano first hit me upside the head when Adam Beyer absolutely pummeled Space Ibiza with his mindbending single, 'Never Stop.' Just two years later, the techno talent is back on my radar thanks to this driving gem called 'Drop' which is bound to bring your screw face out.
2. 'GO ON' - FABIO FERRO [LA PERA RECORDS]
Second tune on the techno chart goes to the second Italian on the chart as well. Except Fabio Ferro dives into groovier territory.
3. 'NAKED NAKED' - BJARKI [TRIP]
Bjarki is a relatively new techno artist from Iceland who is currently turning the tides and shaping the genre as we know it. Take for example his latest stomper titled 'Naked Naked' which hits harder than most yet carries an underlying melody that some stompers tend to disregard.
4. 'IN TIME' - RON COSTA & ALBERTO RUIZ [STICK RECORDINGS]
French producer Ron Costa and Spanish producer Alberto Ruiz align for a reverb heavy smasher called 'In Time.'
5. 'BACK IN 93' - LONJA [LOK RECORDINGS]
Leonid Weidemann aka Lonja has produced a titan of a tune by the name of 'Back In 93' and it's about as big as they come!
6. 'DESTROYER' - AUDION [K7 RECORDS]
Matthew Dear's latest full length from his Audion project gets released to the masses on June 10th but the lead single from this LP called 'Destroyer' is already out and ready for full on consumption.
7. 'PRICES' - ALX [DESCEND RECORDINGS]
Space Miami resident, ALX kicks the doors open to his first ever Descend Recordings EP entitled Feel Em, featuring this low slung, hard as nails tune simply called 'Prices.'
8. 'ALL FORCES OCCUR IN PAIRS' - BAIKAL [MAEVE]
The Pelican's Flight EP from Baikal is only the ninth ever release from the Berlin based label Maeve in four years! With quality control like that, you are guaranteed nearly flawless dance music, especially coming from the elusive producer known as Baikal.
9. 'BOMBSHELL' - A++ & ROSPER [SCI+TEC]
Dubfire continues his on point A&R skills for SCI+TEC with this latest pairing between Romanian producer, A++ and Spanish producer, Rosper.
10. 'THIRTEEN' - CUSTOMER [MOBILEE RECORDS]
Childhood buddies, Alan Fitzpatrick & Reset Robot team up as production duo, Customer for their premiere forward-thinking release on Anja Schnieider's Mobilee imprint.
