After reports of an elderly couple spending their night at Fabric London surfaced, many in the community actually thought it was all just a big publicity stunt. As it turns out, those individuals couldn't be more wrong as the husband of the Polish couple recently sent a letter detailing their experience.
Jacob Husley, the DJ and promoter for WetYourSelf!, which is the party the Polish couple attended, received a letter that was originally sent to the national Polish TV station, then translated.
"Mr Jacob Hansen [Husley] thought that we were lost but when he saw our on-line tickets, it was clear that we were there for the party," said the letter. "At 11 p.m. after security check we entered Fabric club. My partner Stanislawa had problems going down the stairs because she was on one crutch. We took the seat and we got free drinks. We kept one free drink coupon from Fabric to remind us of that day."
The letter went on to describe how Husley provided for the couple, giving them tea when they asked for warm beverages as the bar was only serving cold drinks. Then they went on to clarify how the original reports were not a publicity stunt.
"Some commentators of the article ‘Elderly Polish couple buy Fabric club night tickets online… and rave until 5 am’ in the Internet can’t believe our story and claim it is PR stunt or that it was set up. They are all wrong. Mr Hansen didn’t know us and our home place, in fact he didn’t know it until now."
Although the couple said they had a good time, they still have tips for the DJ on how to make the night more fun, mainly dealing with the music.
"Personally, I’m not a big fan of techno but I am a fan of electronic dance music which Fabric used to play. I’d recommend to Mr Hansen [Husley] to play this kind of music once a week or three times a month, it’s worth trying."
