Die hard techno fans are all giddy at the moment after news recently surfaced of three legendary artists -Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, and Derrick May- planning to join forces for a special reunion tour as the Belleville Three.

The Belleville Three, are the undisputed architects of techno. Influenced by disco and its infant offspring, house, these innovators reinterpreted prototypical electronic music to reflect the unyielding urban landscape of their hometown, Detroit.

In an interview with We Got This Covered, the three techno pioneers said they are currently planning the tour for 2017.

“What I can say for the future is that we’re working on a tour now, for all three of us as the Belleville Three,” said Saunderson. “We’re gonna try to kick it off next year, and it’s gonna start out with DJing and evolve into a much bigger thing, too.”

We can tell that the tour is indeed happening, but we are also speculating that new material might be on the way as well. All three artists have continued to be involved with dance music in some fashion, so look for more exciting news to follow.
