When Skrillex and Diplo announced they would be teaming up to form their supergroup, Jack Ü, it revolutionized the dance music industry. Suddenly the culture was in the spotlight more than ever and their world domination ensued. Now, after selling over 568,000 copies, their debut album has been certified gold by the RIAA.
After the album, aptly titled Skrillex & Diplo Present Jack Ü, dropped in February of 2015, it would go on to rule the Grammys, winning Best Dance Album and Best Dance Recording, the latter of which was obviously for their chart topping hit with Justin Bieber, 'Where Are Ü Now'.
Reaching the gold milestone is quite an accomplishment, especially in the digital age of music streaming and downloading. Expect the duo to follow up their debut with another groundbreaking album, which should be on the way soon.
