As we now have a central office based in Denver, Colorado we will be bringing on a dedicated editor to cover everything Cannabis. From the new strains to recipes, to vapes, to industry interviews we will be getting deep in the weeds out here. Yes, pun absolutely intended.
Denver has transformed over the last four to five years since the legalization of recreational cannabis. The restaurant scene is rapidly approaching world class if it hasn't gotten there already.
Incredible spaces dedicated to everything cool are springing up, check out The Source if you are ever in town and enough breweries to make any craft beer snob blush.
Cannabis has made an impact in a big way, and we are going to start digging in. Let's start with this little thing my old friend Joey used to call a Caffeinated Cannabis Speed Ball.
Ok, so this is a bit of a variation on her original which was simply chugging a bunch of coffee after a couple of bong hits. This version is a more refined take on the OG college creation, maybe something like the Cannabis Creation Elixir? We don't really have a name yet, but please send us some ideas.

The first thing you will need is a bottle of Keef Cola's High Octane 80mg Sativa concentrate. The stuff resembles nuclear waste when poured into a shot glass but don't worry; it's got an excellent sweet weedy taste. It looks hectic, but it goes down nice.
The second thing you will need is an espresso maker; we prefer Nespresso machines as they deliver the best crema and overall product, but any will do.
1. Pour a small amount of the High Octane into the cup; it's best to start with a smaller dose, closer to 5mg worth and work your way up.
2. Get a fresh lemon peel to place on the side of the saucer (not pictured)
3. Brew the espresso right into the cup and let the natural velocity of the espresso coming into the cup mix it up.
4. Stir quickly with a small spoon adding sugar to taste, wipe the lemon rind around the rim of the glass and drink up.
The effect is a mild high with a somewhat acute sense of alertness that is created by the caffeine; it's a perfect balance of energy and heady euphoria.
If you don't live in Washington, Oregon or Colorado, we are sorry, but hey take a visit and give it a whirl.
