If you were not already aware, DJs and producers are getting paid serious money for performances these days. Among the top earning dance music artists in the world is Deadmau5, who recently revealed how much he gets paid per show.

According to a tweet that was sent in response to someone asking how much he gets paid "to press play," Deadmau5 said he gets paid "anywhere from $400,000 to $1,000,000 USD." That's a huge sum when put into perspective, considering he was #11 on the top earning dance music artists in 2015, behind the likes of Diplo, Zedd, Skrillex, and even Afrojack.

Getting paid $1m for a single performance is absolutely staggering. Back in 2014 Deadmau5 was getting paid $200k-$250k per gig, which was slightly more than Calvin Harris, Avicii, and Kaskade at the time.

Do you think he's reached the pinnacle of his career? Deadmau5 just finished building a new studio, is still pumping out new music, and he's still innovating with his live show.

The sky's the limit at this point, though his live set up is quite expensive to create and he does a little more than just press play.
