The burst of the EDM bubble hasn't deterred everyone from getting more involved with electronic music. Ticket sales and event promotion platform Eventbrite has announced the hire of three prominent figures in the dance music industry figures: Barak Schurr, Diego Carlin, and Senthil Chidambaram.
Barak Schurr is the founder and former president of Wantickets, and Diego Carlin has served as CEO of the company since 2014. Also an online ticketing service, Wantickets has eked out a sizable a niche for itself in the electronic music industry.
Schurr has been appointed global director of dance and nightlife at Eventbrite, and Carlin has accepted the position of senior director. The former will head up a team focus on Marquee Nightclub as well as the company's other venue customers, and the latter will be tasked with establishing the company's long-term market growth strategy.
Chidambaram is the founder of Dancing Astronaut, a dance music-centric media outlet that has emerged as one of the scene's more authoritative voices. Eventbrite's leadership perceived his extensive knowledge of the electronic music landscape to be a valuable resource as they navigate their way through the complexities of the industry.
In a statement, Eventbrite Director of Music and Live Events Greg Patterson commented:

In addition to providing event organizers with an interface through which they can sell tickets to attendees, Eventbrite also enables its users to plan and promote events with a series of tools. The company had also recently expanded its ticketing partners to include Margin Walker Presents, PopGun Presents’ Elsewhere, and Chicago’s Lincoln Hall/Schubas.
How effectively the three additions to Eventbrite's team will go about gaining ground on the ticketing subset of the electronic music industry remains to be seen.
