2016 is officially the comeback year for pioneering trip-hop duo Massive Attack. Following the Ritual Spirit EP, their first release in nearly 7 years, the project consisting of 3D and Daddy G are back with yet another standout collection of music that further explores the deep and surreal motif they tend to focus on.
The two new tracks to surface feature vocals from Ghostpoet and Hope Sandoval, and were previewed exclusively via their Fantom app.
Both new tracks, titled 'Come Near Me' and 'The Spoils', were written by Daddy G along with collaborator Stew Jackson.
Now the video for ‘Come Near Me’ has surfaced, which features Ghostpoet delivering a stirring message, and is directed by Ed Morris starring actress Arta Dobroshi. Watch the video below, and keep an eye out for ‘Unfinished Sympathy’ which pops up around the half-way point.
