Pioneer DJ is still finding more ways to pack in as much technology as possible into their DJ controllers and their latest piece of hardware has everything one could need to throw a party.
The Pioneer DJ DDJ-RZX is the most technologically advanced DJ controller to surface. It's absolutely massive by controller standards and even lets users mix video with a simple software add-on for Rekordbox.
The layout of the DDJ-RZX follows suite with Pioneer's other controllers, there's two CDJs and a mixer, but there are some added features that are particularly noteworthy. Now there are trigger pads for samples and three touchscreens for browsing through tracks, using effects, and even mixing video content.
Another interesting feature is the ability to sensor music through the controller. If the DJ has added markers to the areas where explicit content is being played, then the software will edit the track.
Along with the new controller comes a new software add-on called Rekordbox Video. Now VJs will be able to control visuals all through Rekordbox. The all-in-one package could prove to put Pioneer ahead of all the other competition on the market, as they are already the industry standard in nightclubs and venues.
It's safe to say this upgraded technology will not come cheap. The controller alone will cost nearly $3,350, plus the video add-on requires a Rekordbox DJ Plus Pack for $155 and a Rekordbox Video Plus Pack for $178. Look for everything to be made available this July.
