We are now deep into summer, which means long days, hot nights, pool parties and sunrise raves. We love August at Traxsource; people are starting to return from Ibiza with news of the biggest tunes of the summer, and the sun puts everyone in a good mood! To help soundtrack the sun-kissed days, we have put together another bumper selection of top tunage that needs to be on rotation. Dive into Traxsource’s 10 Artists to Watch for August and see what has the industry buzzing this month.

1. Ben Sun

First up we have DJ and Producer Ben Sun, who is putting out two stellar nu disco remixes for Dutch disco masters Kraak & Smaak on their Razor-N-Tape debut. ‘Way Back Home’ features the svelte vocal skills of Ivar and is a pad-drenched uptempo stomper which we think might just be big this summer. The Way Back Home EP also features a pair of rerubs from Tiger & Woods and two Kraak & Smaak originals. We are also very excited to have Ben as our guest on Traxsource LIVE! to tie-in with the release, which is available exclusively on Traxsource August 5th.

2. Duke Dumont

UK Producer Duke Dumont (Turbo, Blasé Boys Club, Dubsided) has had an astonishing couple of years, cleverly walking the line between huge commercial success and the underground dance floor. August sees the release of his For Club Play Only Part 4 EP, featuring two precisely engineered house cuts on top label Defected, both of which showcase the pristine sound for which he has become famous.

3. Pezzner

We are always happy to hear new productions from one of the most innovative House producers around, so a Pezzner long-player on Get Physical had us very excited indeed. "Title Track," a 9 track + continuous mix collection doesn’t disappoint, serving up the tight beats and original arrangements that we have come to expect and that make him such an original producer. Get Physical are releasing "Title Track" on August 5th.

4. Hyenah

The mysterious Hyenah (Freerange, Objektivity) return this month with a superb pair of remixes of Miguel Puente on Akbal. The Anu EP drops on August 8th and features two excellent originals from Puente along with Hyenah’s "Epic Afro Remix" and "African Techno Dub" from Hyenah - expect sophisticated deep beats and bass with plenty of esoteric spiritual chant samples and a distinctive ethnic flavor. Forward-thinking house music.

5. Bodhi

Next up we have the ever-reliable UK production duo Bodhi (Black Butter, Rinse, Food Music) who release their Ngoma EP on W&O Street Tracks on August 5th. Featuring a pair of deep, heads-down tracks targeted directly at the dance floor, with title track "Ngoma" showcasing their 3am credentials and a superbly twisted breakdown in "The Groove." Big.

House and techno artist Dosem (Intec, Tronic, Bedrock, Toolroom) finds time in his busy DJ schedule to drop a superb two-tracker this month in the shape of his Transportation EP. Released on his own Houstrike imprint, the Transportation EP features two tracks of restrained but emotive techno in Dosem’s signature style, perfect for 3:00 AM basement sessions.

9. Doug Gomez

Native New Yorker Doug Gomez (Toy Tonics, Good For You, Plastik People) has a super hot release this month, featuring the alluring vocals of Ayaba. The Disruptive EP drops on August 19th and its three tracks occupy the space between tribal and tech. The release also includes Doug’s own Merecumbe remix, which features a beguiling blend of Latin and Afro percussion.

10 PAWSA.jpg

London-based producer PAWSA has a storming new release on Audiojack’s House and Techno Gruuv imprint. The Crown EP features three storming tech housers from the man himself and a monster Josh Butler remix to boot. Dropping on the August 5th, this is underground club music strictly for the heads.
