As if the last edition of Carl Cox's Space Ibiza residency, Music Is Revolution, weren't already a momentous enough occasion in and of itself, his performance will make for another landmark of sorts. For the first time since 2006, the British techno icon will DJ on vinyl.
Cox reportedly intends for his set at the final installment of his Space residency to reflect all the years he's spent there, and wants to plan his set accordingly. Strange as it may be to our younger readers, there's an allure to the thought of hearing a Carl Cox set underscored by the almost imperceptible crackle of vinyl records in a live setting.
In regards to his vinyl set, Cox said:
"I wanted to take things back and pay homage to all those years at Space spinning records. I want to show respect to those older tunes, dig out some of my old vinyl and play them alongside new tunes. A lot of the crowd probably won't have even heard them before, so it's a way of showing the music is still relevant."
The final edition of Carl Cox's Space Ibiza residency, Music Is Revolution, takes place on September 20th. To purchase tickets or find out additional information, click here.
