Justice have finally debuted another one of the singles from their upcoming album, Woman, and it's every bit a Justice song. "Randy" has premiered on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show, Hottest Record in The World, after the French bloghouse duo shared the cover art for their new effort - and we almost think they should have just titled it "D.A.N.C.E. Pt. II."
That's not to say that "Randy" doesn't hold up on its own merit. It's melodic in a markedly different way than their 2007 hit "D.A.N.C.E." was, but somewhere underneath its male falsetto vocals and gravelly bass line is the familiar twinkle of their early releases.
Be that as it may, the duo themselves haven't given any indicator that they were trying to reproduce the appeal of any of their existing discography. "Every time, we start with a couple of ideas and as we make the record, they change a lot and they drift a bit..." Justice's Xavier de Rosnay told Annie Mac on the air after the song played through. "'Randy' started as a techno track, but we were in such a good mood that day that we ended up making the song as it is."
Now that they've let "Safe And Sound" and "Randy" trickle out from their third studio-length album, Woman, there can't be much longer of a wait before the effort officially drops. However, neither Justice nor Ed Banger Records have revealed an official release date or track list as of this writing.
