We can't think of a time that Tchami's Confession imprint ever put out a subpar track, but Dustycloud is shaping up to be one of its strongest assets. The Parisian producer had already made a memorable debut on the label in the form of July's "Blind," but what he's followed up with is even more impressive.
"Sometimes" exudes the mature sound design sensibility possessed by only a handful of artists in the underground subset of the bass house genre. As crisp and exacting as its LFO loop bass wobbles are, they're framed by intelligent percussive elements that lend a distinct measure of club appeal.
If the trajectory of his releases is any indicator, whatever Dustycloud puts out next will surely find its way into the live sets of just as many forward-thinking DJs around the world is this single already has. In the meantime, listen to "Sometimes" in the SoundCloud player above and look out for more from the promising artist in the weeks to follow.
