It's been a couple of months since Malaa released the Illicit EP, but the word on the street is that they've got more music on the way. An ID has emerged that, while more hook-driven than most of the anonymous project's releases, is rumored to be theirs nonetheless.
The as-yet-unreleased ID uploaded to the month-old SoundCloud account Ultra IDs: The Rebirth centers around a pitched-down vocal sample just like all G house does, but if it is from a hip-hop track then it's from a part with singing instead of rapping. The wonky, wobbly drop is sure to set any crowd into motion, and the percussive ebbs and flows are somewhat more main stage than other Malaa releases.
Malaa is widely speculated to be the side project of Tchami and DJ Snake - and, depending on who you ask, Mercer. All three artists hail from Paris, and performed alongside one another on the Pardon My French Tour earlier in the year.
If the ID above is indeed a Malaa track, then it will almost certainly come out on Tchami's Confession imprint. Until we know for sure, give it a listen and tell us what you think in the comments section below.
