If a rapidly emerging undercurrent of the electronic music world is any indicator, bass garage might be the next big sound in 2017. We at Magnetic Magazine have been thoroughly impressed with what artists like Tchami and Dustycloud have put out through the former artist's Confession imprint, so we're excited to premiere a single from one of their fellow Frenchmen named KOOS by way of Los Angeles record label Pinnacle Collective.
"Alert" opens with a uniquely syncopated drum pattern that underscores particularly L.A.-friendly bass wobbles before a whirring drop that oozes underground appeal. A dramatic second break then segues into a final drop that combines the best of both worlds in dance floor-shaking fervor.
"'Alert' is house at its core but has a darker vibe and elements that I've been exploring lately," KOOS told us regarding the single. "I wanted to make a track that captured the current underground house sound popular in France and this track is a perfect example of those current vibes."
Being that Dustycloud has also released music through Pinnacle, we can't help but wonder if the SoCal bass house scene is due for a French bass garage invasion of sorts. Check out "Alert" by KOOS in the SoundCloud player up above and look out for more music like this in the months to follow.
