The French underground house scene has been responsible for some of our favorite music as of late, which is why we're proud to premiere this reimagining of an early '90s classic by Parisian duo Asdek. The two producers have offered up an unexpected remix of Mariah Carey's 1991 classic "Emotions" that puts a dark, introspective spin on the original.
"Emotions" was co-written by Carey, David Cole and Robert Clivillés of the C+C Music Factory, and appeared on Carey's studio album of its namesake. Asdek's remix takes the tempo down several notches and fits it with a gravelly bass line on the low end and shimmering piano line on the high.
Asdek's remix of Mariah Carey's "Emotions makes for one of the French duo's more placid, melodic releases. After listening to it in the SoundCloud player above, keep an eye on the duo in the months to follow for more of their signature style of hyphy bass garage.
