Las Vegas is home to some of the most incredible nightclubs in the world and now recreational cannabis as well. Though it has long been regarded as a popular destination for partygoers, Las Vegas really embraces the electronic dance music culture – delivering an explosive celebration all year round.
If you are a fan of EDM, or you simply like to explore new music experiences, then you are definitely going to enjoy the Las Vegas vibe. After all, the city’s nightclubs welcome some of the biggest EDM DJs around. However, the music is only one part of what makes these nights out special for the people who attend. Everything from dramatic décor to special effects and cutting-edge technology come together to ensure that you have nothing less than an other-worldly experience.
Choosing your accommodation
Choosing the right accommodation will ensure that you are in close proximity to all of the action, and it will also allow you a safe and relaxing place to wind down when the party comes to a close. You are going to need those black out shades and bloody marys too.
Las Vegas offers a variety of accommodations, and if you are looking for luxury, there is a great selection of hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.
The Bellagio, for example, formerly owned by businessman Stephen A Wynn and well known for its fountain display, is world famous. Wynn built a range of luxury hotel resorts along the Strip and is credited for bringing the boulevard back to life. He also owns Wynn Las Vegas & Encore, which is home to XS Nightclub. If you want to enjoy the full experience that Las Vegas has to offer, then a hotel along the Strip is where to look.
Once you have figured out where you are going to stay, you will be ready to immerse yourself in the depths of the EDM scene. The following are just a few of the favorite options for EDM lovers.
The LIGHT Vegas at Mandalay Bay
One of the most visually appealing clubs on the Strip, the LIGHT Vegas combines music with a live Cirque du Soleil show. The artist residencies for this particular club range from A-Trak, to Disclosure, Laidback Luke, and Dirty South.
If you are planning to visit soon, then you can attend the Kid Funk set on Friday November 25th at 10.30pm. On the other hand, those who are looking to explore the EDM scene just in time for Christmas can enjoy the Blackout Artists Holiday Party on Wednesday December 21st.
Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan
The perfect club for rave EDM lovers, the Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub hires the highest numbers of resident DJs around – perfect for a young, excited audience. Inside the club are seven different bars spread out across three rooms. Each room provides a different musical experience and atmosphere, but you will probably spend the majority of your time in the main room, which has a 40-foot LED DJ booth.
Resident DJs have ranged from Benny Benassi, to Armin Van Buuren, to Ferry Corsten, and Tritonal. If you are planning to visit soon, you can enjoy a night with Eric D-Lux on Monday December 12th, or a night with Cash Cash on Friday December 23rd.
XS Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas & Encore
The front runner of the Las Vegas clubbing scene for a number of years, XS Nightclub is one of the most expensive clubs ever built. In fact, in 2014, it was the highest-grossing nightclub in the whole of the US, with over $105 million in turnover.
DJs that have played at XS range all the way from Skrillex, to David Guetta, Diplo, and deadmau5. Inside, you will find that the design of XS is brimming with lines and curves, with ceilings covered in black, gold, and bronze decorations. If you are planning to go there soon, you can check out DJ Snake on Friday November 18th, or turn up just in time for Diplo on Saturday December 3rd.
Planning an incredible night
The EDM scene in Las Vegas is still thriving, with new and exciting artists hitting the Strip on an almost constant basis. If you want to make the most of your EDM experience the next time that you visit Las Vegas, make sure that you prepare well in advance for an incredible night that brings you closer to some of the most incredible music acts around.
Don't procrastinate. Buy your tickets early, book your hotel ahead of time, and be prepared. Nothing is worse than getting to Vegas and not knowing what's up. Spend your time on the dance floor not in the taxi line.
