It's time to say goodbye to ticketing bots as President Obama signs legislation

The law will extensively fight against scalpers.

President Obama has officially signed the Better Online Ticket Sales (BOTS) Act of 2016 that was passed through Congress and brought it under federal law.

This bipartisan bill was originally brought forth by U.S. Representatives Paul D. Tonko and Marsha Blackburn in February of 2015. The law highlights that both people using software and those purchasing tickets with the knowledge that they have been purchased with bots can be prosecuted. The government also will prepare to file civil suits for those who miss out on tickets because of these bots.
