Sharam Jey's Bunny Tiger label has evolved a lot since launching on the force of his Kanye-sampling "Money Right" five years ago. It's grown from an artist imprint for his own tunes into a label with its own touch on house music, blending sunny, deep, and G-house strains into their little pot of rhythm and sporting hot releases from Sirus Hood, Vanilla ACE, Daniel Fernandes, and Destructo, among others.
Bunny Tiger is doubling-down on this new friends and family phase of its existence for its Bunny Tiger Selection Vol 8 compilation, with 20 tracks where Sharam Jey only features on four. His mixing and curation are on point as always, but handing the reins to other producers allows for more variety of talent on the compilation.
Today we're pleased to premiere Mahalo's "Arrhythmia" from the compilation which features a deeper, more sublime take on the same sensibilities that first led us to call him out last year. He's released a number of notable tracks this fall including a reunion with longtime vocal collaborator Cat Lewis and a remix of DVBBS & Shaun Frank on Spinnin' Records, but by far his most enduring record in 2016 has been the HypeM-topping remix of TRACE's "Honey" he pushed out this spring. If his output maintains this consistent, we expect an even stronger 2017.
