Garry Hughes and Harvey Jones are 30-year-long friends who have come together after a life in the music industry to create work that explores the electronic styles of the 70's and 80's. The resulting work was released under the name Delia Derbyshire Appreciation Society, after an appreciation for the talented producer who crafted a large part of the Doctor Who theme song, and similarly, their work takes us to another time and another place.
Today we have an exciting premiere in the form of visuals for their track "St. Tropez 1966," which brings us back to the warm location in a nostalgic time. The song is stunningly tranquil, bringing a sunny disposition that is over a backdrop of vintage footage and footage of synths. The resulting piece is simultaneously futuristic and reminiscent of the past.
