It's been two nearly two months since the Magnetic Magazine house chart has seen the light of day but it's finally back and I have ten exceptional tunes to tell you about. Most ride along the lines of traditional four on the floor but there's others that fall into the deep or progressive realms. Either way, all the tunes featured here are the best of what the genre has to offer and all deserve the recognition.
1. "THIS WAS" - QUIVVER [BEDROCK]
I first discovered Quivver way back in 1999 when his Total Separation mix of "Stage One" appeared on Sasha & Digweed's landmark mix album "Northern Exposure: Expeditions." Little did I know that nearly two decades later he'd have an outstanding two-tracker put out on Bedrock which I would be featuring as the best (progressive) house release of the week, if not the month.
2. "THE TOUCH" - RAMPA [KEINEMUSIK]
Rampa is responsible for one last year's biggest underground tunes "Necessity" and he's back with another track to join the ranks on his resident label Keinemusik. The very deep, slightly erotic slow-burner he calls "The Touch."
3. "IMANI'S DRESS" - SATORI [CROSSTOWN REBELS]
4. "ALL THE TIME" - EMANUEL SATIE [MOON HARBOUR]
Emanuel Satie is a fast rising German producer who's entering my house music chart for the umpteenth time with this superbly produced floor tune simply titled "All The Time."
5. "SALAMANDRA" - ASTIN [MOAN RECORDINGS]
Italian producer, Astin presents this absolute floor destroyer called "Salamandra." Out now on the obscenely titled Fucktotum EP via Moan Recordings.
6. "LAZER GUN (ADESSE VERSIONS INSTRUMENTAL)" - OGRIS DEBRIS [THE ENIGMA CORPORATION]
The disco-house extraordinaire known as Adesse Versions gives this melodic tune the funky, balearic re rub it deserves.
7. "FEELS LIKE GARAGE" - S3A [QUINTESSENTIALS]
French producer, S3A is starting the year off with some well and proper garage vibes on his U.K. EP which features the aptly titled tune, "Feels Like Garage."
8. "CLASSY" - FELIX LEIFUR [DIRT CREW RECORDINGS]
Icelandic disco designer, Felix Leifur returns to the the fabulous Dirt Crew imprint for a six track journey through jazz, broken beat, house, and disco.
9. "BREEZE" - RENO WURZBACHER [GET PHYSICAL MUSIC]
Relatively new, German producer, Reno Wurzbacher returns to Get Physical for his premiere solo outing and the title track is absolutely stunning.
10. "HEART DRIVE" - SUPERLOVER [MOTHER RECORDINGS]
Superlover's Kiss EP includes this discolicious tune he calls "Heart Drive."
