Nick Martin has been an undeniable force within the music industry lately. With a tour with the Chainsmokers recently completed and his recent sign to Armada, as his Greek background, we knew when we were sitting down with him there were a million things we just needed to know.

Check out what he had to say, plus an exclusive playlist from the talented artist!

Hi Nick, thank you for talking with us! You've recently released a song called "Shackles" and signed to Armada Music. For those that haven't heard your track yet, what would you want people to know about the song?

It's fresh, has a great summer vibe, easy listening with a bunch of friends hanging out and the lyrics are very honest.

Boy, girl break up but the girl makes a statement! “hearts like these they don’t come with no shackles!"

You've been in the music business for years, and undoubtedly faced a lot of roadblocks along the way. How do you continue to keep your focus on positivity and music?

This is the best question ever because to continue staying focused is the most difficult thing. There are numerous times when you will doubt yourself get discouraged by the industry and its pace but then there are great examples to follow like The Chainsmokers that make you believe with hard work dedication, and focus one can achieve great things.

We'd definitely love to learn a little bit about Greece's nightlife. If we were to take a trip to your hometown, where do we visit for the best music and food?

Since the 90’s Greece has had some of the best nightclubs in the world. Given the crises here Greeks are mostly going back to Greek music but in the summers dance music takes over the islands. Our islands are amazing. I would say Cavo Paradiso in Mykonos for clubbing (most world famous acts play there) and great food and drinks during the day either at Nammos (upscale with commercial music) or Scorpios (avant-garde with deep house music). You must experience summers in Greece.

We heard your roots started out in rock. Who are your all-time favorites?

I have been around music my entire life. I was a drummer in my high school band. U2, ACDC from the big bands and Blink 182, Greenday, from the more indy bands. Off course Nirvana’s Nevermind was the first album I heard when a teenager which blew my mind!

Finally, what can people expect from you for the rest of 2017?

I have some amazing music coming out and my next single is dropping in April. Some great summer gigs in Europe and last but not least more touring globally with The Chainsmokers!
