Taiwan's Celia&Perah has announced their latest addition to the line up the M2 Wood Wireless speaker. The M2 is the third product to enter their speaker portfolio and is currently in the crowdfunding stage on Kickstarter which you can check out HERE.
We got our hands on one of the first prototypes to give it a test run and were impressed overall with the build quaility, bass output and clean design. The M2 while priced fairly high, is a speaker that might be worth a look if you are serious about design and looking for big output from a small speaker.
The first thing you will notice is the clean almost retro styled Scandanavian design and funky rubber middle section aka passive radiators. At first glance I thought this was some kind of control but in actuallity it is all about function with the rubber sections being used to created more intense bass.
The M2 is equipped with 8 watt drivers which power this little speaker perfectly allowing it to deliver some impressive sound for it's size. The speaker comes with a premium hard shell carrying case, power cord and can go without a charge for 12 hours.
The range is also incredible, I was playing the speaker via my phone with Spotify and it still retained a strong connection when I walked up to the second floor.
We've tested a LOT of wireless speakers here at Magnetic but the M2 is kind of in a class all its own. Smart and elegant design, crystal clear sound and punchy bass all add up to one nice little speaker.
So if you are looking for a nice desktop speaker for your design studio, guest room, etc. the M2 is worth a serious look and right now you can get one for $169 if you jump in on the Kickstarter plan, the MSRP is going to be $249.
