Crush Club is admittedly the type of band you might stumble upon after hours of digging through soundcloud. Their sound is infectious and we just can't seem to get enough. While their following is small, they've been capturing the eyes and ears of some major music heavyweights, most notably they've been picked up for management by the same people who handle the likes of Cut Copy and Sofi Tukker.
When listening to their music, one thing becomes clear- they know how to get people on the dancefloor and create a catchy rhythm that's addicting all the way through. We had to ask them what their favorite songs to get down to were, and the end result was absolutely perfect.
Zapp & Roger - More Bounce To The Once
Best feel of all time! This era of late 70's early 80's Funk is the ultimate for us, and this track is one we just keep going back to. Super banging music/drums, with an emphasis on fun and live interaction. Can you believe this track only made it to #86 on the Billboard top 100 chart?!!?!
Todd Terje - Preben Goes To Acapulco
Todd's "It's The Arps" EP is so meticulously made and mixed. It's a perfect use of analog synths and programming.
Jamiroquai - Cosmic Girl
Does it get better than this!? BEST bassline ever!! When Stuart Zender (Bass player on the first 2 Jamiroquai albums) left the group, I cried.
Leon Vynehall - It's Just (House of Dupree)
Stick to the groove! This track proves the power of finding a perfect groove and sticking to it. We first heard this track on a dance floor, and as soon as it came on it instantly made everyone in the room friends. Never doubt the unifying power of dance music!
6th Borough Project - Do It To The Max
This amazing track sample's Xavier - Do It To The Max. Edit's and sample tracks are a huge inspiration for Crush Club. Getting the undeniable psychedelic energy of funk/disco in the never ending format of a dance track is the holy grail for us.
Donna Summer - I Feel Love
BASSLINE!! Thank you MORODER!! The power of minimal was born with this track. Find something good and repeat it.
Skatt Bros - Walk The Night
The Era where disco and rock overlap is so incredible. Another one from the late 70's early 80's! Feels so tough and physical.
C+C Music Factory - Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) ft. Freedom Williams
All the kids used to make TC sing this on the playground when it came out. He started DIVA training early!!
The Clash - Train In Vain
Is there anything cooler than The Clash?
RuPaul - Supermodel
Mother Ru is such an inspiration of positivity for everyone. "If you can't love yourself, how the hell you gonna love someone else." Preach.
