Funky Fresh Fire back at it again to give you the important intel for SXSW 2017. This prep guide will feature a few showcases, events, and parties that you'd be crazy to miss. We threw a little bit of everything in here to cover a whoooole range of musical tastes. Tuesday, March 14th 8:00 PM-4:00 AM - Kingdom Nightclub

Sci+Tec is an electronic music label founded by techno master Dubfire. This is truly one of the best, if not THE best techno & tech-house showcase at SXSW. People would line-up just to see Dubfire by himself, but when you add the likes of Hector and Carl Lio? Stacked! Did we mention Texas local, Raul Facio and Shaded are playing as well? Unreal! This line-up is stacked and these DJ's are guaranteed to bring the heat and tear up that Kingdom dance floor. Forgot to mention... Kingdom is open until 4AM. 

Moullinex Coming to SXSW

Moullinex ready to show you what his DISCOTEXAS label has to offer. 


Tuesday, March 14th. 8:00 PM-1:40 AM - The Townsend 

Discotexas is a super dope Portuguese label started by Moullinex & Xinobi. The label and artist it support have an awesomely unique sound. Think funk meets rock meets house with some disco and soul sprinkled in. Moullinex, Sinobi, Bufi, and the rest of the DIscotexas selects are going to bring you one helluva show. We hope you brought your dancing shoes because this will have dancy vibes all night! Here's the kicker, The Townsend is a small intimate cocktail bar smack-dab in the middle of downtown Austin. Perfect place to get a fancy cocktail and enjoy some good music.

Heldeep Label Showcase

Wednesday, March 15th 8:00 PM-4:00 AM - Kingdom Nightclub

Heldeep is a Dutch record label founded by Mr. Oliver Heldens. The rather impressive 22-year-old already has numerous chart-toppers to his name. Not only that, but he's largely credited for the explosion of the future house scene. This showcase will feature Heldeep's very best as Throttle, Kream, Steve James, and Dante Klein will all be hitting the decks. If you like house music, shuffling, and overall fun, this showcase is for you!

StubHub Live Sound Stage

Wednesday, March 15th - Friday, the 17th 2:00 PM-7:00 PM - Bangers Bar 

Now this is a massive line-up! StubHub Live is bringing you lucky people three days of top notch performers! Headliners include Sleigh Bells, Banks, and Talib Kweli with a whole slew of other dope artists! Better yet, this event is being held at the famous Banger's bar on Rainey Street. ADE Presents: Applesap, Dekmantel & Red Light Radio 

Wednesday, March 15th - Friday, March 17th 8:00 PM-2:00 AM - Plush

Another showcase based out of the Netherlands. This one is presented by Amsterdam Dance Events! They'll be starting off the first of three nights with Applesap, which is a festival in Amsterdam that plays hip-hop and electronic music. The last two nights are being thrown by Dekmantel & Red Light Radio. Dekmantel is the record label arm, while Red Light Radio it's esteemed radio show that broadcast from an old prostitution window in the Red Light District. This dutch squad will be tearing up Plush with an eclectic range of sounds on the 16th, 17th, and 18th. Currently on the bill is Max Abysmal, Casper Tielrooj, Orpheu The Wizard, Woody and some other artists yet to be announced. Definitely recommend checking this crowd out one, two, or all three days!

Outbreak House by Monster Energy & The Nations

Friday, the 15th - Sunday, the 17th 7:00PM-2:00 AM - Old Antones

Outbreak house this year has sponsorships from Monster Energy and The Nations. What does that mean? 3 days of madness! These guys have teamed up to bring you three musically themed nights with 30+ artists! The party kicks off on the first night with hip-hop night headliner Young Ma. The next two nights feature a whole slew of characters representing the wide sounds of Chill Nation and Trap Nation. Headliners from the last two Nation parties include Sweater beats, Ekali, San Holo, Illenium and some other really talented selectors. 

15th - Hip-Hop night featuring Young Ma, Ugly God, 24 Hours, and more

So here's the deal, if you're not familiar with K-Pop, listen up. Picture the girl and boy super groups of the 90s and 00s except with 10x the cuteness and 30x the leather jackets. The level of stardom among the artists featured on the line-up is pretty unfathomable. Lets put it this way: for every 1 person who attends this showcase at SXSW there would be 1,000 screaming fans if this show were taking place back in Seoul. Need we say more??? Lineup features Red Velvet, Drunken Tiger, Galaxy Express, Hyolyn, Big Phony, No Brain, and Yoonmirae.
