The East Coast may be getting dumped on right now but as far as the music industry is concerned, festival season is unofficially underway. Many folks are down in St Martin for the second annual SXM Festival while a whole slew of others are patiently waiting both Miami Music Week and Ultra next week in Miami. Or maybe you're in Europe waiting on Timewarp. Regardless of where you are or where you're headed, one thing is for sure. The tunes are definitely heating up and this week's house chart is completely indicative of that. So press play and have some fun while you're waiting in the wing for your next night out.
1. "BACK TO THE MUSIC" - SOONEY [HOT CREATIONS]
Judging by the rumbling bass-lines and the euphoric breakdowns, it's very apparent that Hot Creations newcomer, Sooney was inspired by early 90's garage and jungle on this fire hot label debut.
2. "(NO ONE KNOWS ME) LIKE THE PIANO (BEN GOMORI'S MINOR EDIT)" - SAMPHA [UNOFFICIAL EDIT]
Last year, deep house purist, Ben Gomori did a brilliant job of creating a special edit of the mega classic "Midnight In A Perfect World." But this year he may have topped himself with this absolutely flawless rework of Sampha's "Like The Piano." An album cut off of his recently released full-length Process.
3. "1975" - TENSNAKE [TRUE ROMANCE]
The mighty Tensnake is back on his own imprint with a well-rounded trio of tunes including this filter-heavy chugger he calls "1975."
4. "SATELLITE (KEVIN OVER REMIX)" - RODRIGUEZ JR. [MOBILEE]
The very magical "Satellite" by Rodriguez Jr gets an outstanding rework from Kevin Over on the third and final edition of his own Back To Back series.
5. "CANTEC DE LEAGANE" - DAVE PAD & ANJEI [ANJUNADEEP]
A pair of up and coming producers hailing from Moscow team up for this dreamy affair on Anjunadeep.
6. "OVER YOU (ACUMEN REMIX)" - DANITO & ATHINA [TIME HAS CHANGED]
Time Has Changed label-boss, Acumen gets in on the remix action with Danito & Athina's lovely new single " Over You."
7. "MOONLIGHT" - BOG [BEDROCK]
Parisian-based producer, BOg is a master at the arp and this has been completely evident on his last few releases. Press play and enjoy the ride.
8. "STORM (OLIVIER GIACOMOTTO REMIX)" - HRRSN & MATTEO LUIS [NOIR MUSIC]
Whenever you hear a new Olivier Giacomotto production or remix, you are guaranteed to hear something completely unique and fresh unlike anything you've ever heard before.
9. "FLESHY BLEEP" - PIRUPA [MONABERRY]
Italian producer, Pirupa has become a fixture in the house music scene thanks to his very consistent output over the last ten years and his latest on Monaberry is an exercise in diversity. However, I prefer the straight up floor tune on this package. It's called "Fleshy Bleep" and it's guaranteed to get some very good play for at least the next couple of months.
10. "HIGH STREET" - KID ONLY [DEJA VU TRAXX]
Relatively new recording artist, Kid Only drops two 909 style floor-bangers on the newly minted Deja Vu Traxx imprint.
