After an amazing dance party last month with Tom Noble owner of Brooklyn record store staple, Superior Elevation Records, Brooklyn based dance club, Bizarre Bushwick, is back again this Saturday for their monthly party, Bizarre Disco.
With his first gig in 97’, Duane has been rocking parties in NYC since the age of 16. He ventured to New York to pursue a career in music journalism, and quickly started playing various loft parties and events around the city. Always keeping busy behind the decks, he was a resident at the legendary (but now defunct) APT Lounge, and longstanding Other Music record store staff, prior to its closing. Duane currently hosts a weekly Wednesday radio show Duane Train on WFMU. Take a listen to his show from 12/10/14 featuring Mister Saturday Night's Justin Carter.
His mixes are known to have an eclectic blend of disco, Motown, techno, soul and funk. Him and friend Sean Maquand have a production duo by the name of Devin Dare who have put out widely sought after and highly priced disco edits. Their latest 4 track EP, 'Wanna Dance' came out on German label La Mission’s edit series “Edits and Beans’ following a release from disco aficionado Chrissy.
The rest is history. This is a party not to be missed if you are a true music aficionado or someone who loves to get down on the dance floor!
Bizarre Disco Bar is located at 12 Jefferson Street, Brooklyn, NY 11206
