When HYPEBEAST and Under Armour extend an invite to attend their pool party throwdown celebrating the launch of the new UA Threadborne Shift shoe in the desert, you definitely have to go! After checking in, Team Fauxchella entered the newly opened (March 2016) V Palm Springs Hotel that had been converted with that HYPEBEAST twist. Immediately we were greeted with cocktail concoctions created by 1800 Tequila and for the agave-faint-at-heart, Moet Chandon was also on site popping bottles to quench all thirsts.
Beautiful bodies lounged along the lines of the V's elongated jointed pool which was filled to the brim with color matched branded beach balls and a couple of large-scale golden swans to float on.
On the backside wall of the party's entrance, graffiti artist, Bisco Smith, was completing a massive mural in his unique and visually stunning style. Watching an artist do such a large mural live and in person is awe-inspiring as every brush stroke slowly came together to reveal a breathtaking street flavored work of art.
This was a two-day event, so that meant that there were two days of EVERYTHING including a bass heavy barrage of music from A-Trak, Zaytoven, Kittens, Baauer, and many more. Not only were guests compelled to boogie but many if not all were brushing shoulders with the likes of Tyga, Gucci Mane, Migos, Trinidad James, GoldLink, Reese LAFLARE and Snoop Dogg’s son, Cordell Broadus.
Poolside cocktails and refreshments? Check. Free towels, beach balls, and bathrobes? Check. Visual works of art both on the wall and covered by bikinis? Check. What more could anyone ask for? How about a pair of the new UA Threadborne Shift sneakers?...CHECK! If you had the clout of being a follower-heavy influencer or the baller status of being a celebrity then you were directed to the 2nd smaller pool area of the hotel where the Under Armour gifting suite resided. With the doors guarded by security, once inside select guests were granted pairs of these new sneakers that offer solid performance but without any over the top "sports" looks. I have to say that I was impressed with these sneaks but unfortunately they were out of my size, so let's hope that the promised pair of 9's are coming in the mail.
With so much going on, it was hard to make the decision to leave. I love tequila and my co-writer loves champagne...talk about the perfect fit! But with an unforgiving schedule filled with many more events to partake in, Team Fauxchella had to bid farewell to the HYPEBEAST hotel. Thanks for all the beauty, the drinks, the swag and the memories. We look forward to your return for Fauxchella 2018!!!
